At Billabong, we don't do easy we make easy happen through hard work and learning. Research demonstrates that the brain becomes more active and neural pathways quicken after brief physical activity. Our learning centers encourage movement, fostering a deep understanding of concepts through multiple learning modes. This secure and engaging environment is tailored to each child's unique learning needs. Effective learning often involves a blend of activity and enjoyment. Children learn by witnessing positive influences (inspiration) and by analyzing their surroundings (introspection). By merging knowledge with activity and interaction, we promote deep and enduring understanding.

Academic Programs

We follow the CBSE curriculum extending it beyond the boundaries of the syllabus prescribed. The course curriculum covers wide range of topics to explore overall growth of students, provide more practical knowledge and focus more on analytical skills. We believe that the traditional teach and test, “ROTE LEARNING MODEL” alienates a child from the learning process and eventually leads to a resistance to learning.
Playschool

Age: 2 years – 3 years

Our playschool program fosters future skills by nurturing language, math, and science through art, music, dance, and play.

Nursery

Age: 3 years – 4 years

In our Nursery program, we foster curiosity, inquiry, and self-driven learning through engaging and interactive learning stations.

Junior KG

Age: 4 years – 5 years

Children in Junior KG get to “invent, create and discover” by building hypotheses, actively experimenting, imitating, practising and roleplaying.

Senior KG

Age: 5 years – 6 years

Senior KG fosters skills like focus, concentration, and perseverance, helping students excel as they transition to primary school.

Primary School

Primary: Grades 1 – 4 (Ages 5 to 9)

Billabong’s primary school program was developed to educate young learners in unique, creative, and contemporary ways. Our students are encouraged to adopt a scientific attitude, ask questions, and express themselves freely. Our goal is to teach them not what to think, but how to think. We provide well-designed opportunities and experiences to develop and fine-tune their literacy, numeracy, interpersonal skills, and creativity. The primary program also empowers young minds to build their personalities through self-discipline and self-confidence.

Middle & High School

Middle: Grades 5 – 8 (Ages 10 to 13) | High: Grades 9 – 12 (Ages 14 to 17)

Teaching Methodology

One size doesn’t fit all, it is important to accommodate all individual learners, providing them opportunities to grow at their own pace and optimise their inherent potential.

Billabong is founded on the principles of the multiple intelligence theory, ensuring that each student experiences whole-brain learning without the limitations of conventional notions of intelligence. Our curriculum prioritizes real-life learning over rote memorization, engaging students with multiple intelligence, interdisciplinary themes, and Bloom’s Taxonomy. Our air-conditioned classrooms and smart boards facilitate interactive learning, fostering inquisitiveness and the acquisition of new skills and concepts. We follow a student-centered approach with varied activities that promote creativity, imagination, and critical thinking. As we enter the 21st century, our instructional design and neuroscience experts emphasize the need for dynamic, evolving learning patterns that address both societal and individual learner needs.

Teachers as Facilitators

Facilitators create environments in which students can learn fundamental concepts and develop the skills necessary for lifelong learning. They establish engaging, motivating, and supportive classrooms, leading, inspiring, and encouraging students throughout the learning process.

Parents as Partners

Faculties

The school boasts of well qualified, competent and experienced teachers with years of teaching experience both in India and abroad. The faculty members are encouraged to upgrade their skills and update their knowledge on a regular basis. Besides, it is mandatory that the teachers undergo at least one training session in a year in areas such as teaching methodologies, use of technology in class and such related subjects. It is pertinent to place on record with gratitude the increased amount of workload the faculty members have taken on themselves to improve the academic standards of the school.

Evaluation Procedure

We have grading system for Assessments, Assignments,Tests and Projects. We have adapted Self correcting process as well. BHIS follows the CCE (Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation) Skill based Assessments & on paper assessment with both formative and summative assessments.

Beyond Academics

Theme based special days, dress up days, events and field trips are organized on a regular basis. Special guests/visitors are also invited to interact with the students to help them recapitulate the topics taught in the class and have in-depth understanding of the themes/concepts.
